The Sant Rafel Parish (1785), part of the municipality of
Sant
Antoni de Portmany, has been celebrating since October 12 their patron
saint fiestas, with many cultural, religious and sports activities for
all ages.
An exhibition of plants and photographs, several concerts and dances,
championships and tournaments, a conference on environment and traditional
games are some the festive proposals of the programme for this year.
The proclamation of the fiestas, by the historian Antoni Ferrer Abárzuza,
will take place on Friday, October 19, at 8 p.m., at the Sant Rafel School,
and this same day there will be party dinner and dance.
The central part of the programme will be held on Wednesday, October
24, the day of Sant Rafel. At noon mass followed by the traditional procession,
traditional dances by the Colla de Sant Rafel and an aperitif for everybody.
At 8 p.m., there will by a performance by the Magician Alexis and as from
9 p.m. music and dance with the orchestra Carmicie.
And the activities do not finish here. On Sunday 28 there will still
be a walk to the Monument al Cor de Jesús and at 8 p.m., at the
Polyvalent Centre, theatre with the presentation of the work "Tres instants
de la vida de Mariŕ Villangómez" by the
IES
Quarto de Portmany.
