The "XXVII Curs Eivissenc de Cultura", organised by the Institut d'Estudis
Eivissencs (
IEE), will start at
the "Sa Nostra" Cultural Centre of Eivissa, on Monday November 5 at 8 p.m.
with the presentation of the course and the conference "'Walter Spelbrink:
Investigaciķ filolōgica", by Mariā Torres.
The course will last until Saturday, November 10 with three more conferences,
a round table and an excursion.
- Conference: "Els viatges de Mn. Alcover a Eivissa. Colˇlaboradors
a les Pitiüses", by Felip Cirer (day 6).
- Conference: "L'Eivissa que va cončixer Mn. Alcover", by Joan
Prats Bonet (day 7).
- Conference: "Antoni M. Alcover i la llengua catalana", by Joan Veny
(day 8).
- Round table: "És necessāria una nova Lletra de convit?".
Moderated by Margalida Torres and with participation by Mariā
Torres, Felip Cirer, Bernat Joan and Enric Ribes (day 9).
- Excursion: to be decided. (day 10)

Coinciding with the closing of the "Curs Eivissenc de Cultura" the "Premi
Baladre" will be given publicly, a prize that is given every year by the
Institut d'Estudis Eivissencs.
The "Curs Eivissenc de Cultura" this year is part of the activities
that have been organised by the IEE for the "Lletra de Convit 2001", The
European Year for Language and the Alcover Year. Within the events programed,
on November 23 at the Auditori de Cas Serres in Eivissa town, the CD "Mostra
de canįons dels dialectes de la llengua catalana"; will be presented;
on November 28 at 8.30 at the Library Can Ventosa, Miquel Strubell will
give a conference on "Les llengües minoritzades a Europa"; on December
14, at 8.30 p.m. at the Library Can Ventosa, Albert Bastardas will talk
on globalisation and linguistic identity, and in the third week in December,
there will be an exhibition of products with labels in Catalan at the Delegaciķ
territorial d'Educaciķ.
