The activities of the second "Jornades de
Cultura Popular de les Pitiüses" continue this weekend at the Insular
Council of Eivissa and Formentera, situated in the Avinguda Espanya in
Eivissa city. As from 8.30 p.m., on Friday 15, Toni Manonelles, member
of the Grup Folklòric de Sant Josep de sa Talaia, will offer a conference
about the traditional dresses used by the groups that perform traditional
dances. On Saturday 16, at the same time, the professors of Marine Archaeology,
Lena Mateu Prats, will talk about the Moorish costumes.
The Days will end on Friday 22, with the speech by the director of the
Ethnological
Museum of Eivissa and Formentera, Lina Sansano, who will analyse the
evolution of the traditional clothes of the Pitius islands along the XX
century. This last speech will also begin at 8.30 p.m.
