On Friday afternoon the Fiesta Medieval de Eivissa will open in
the Flea Market.
In December 1999, Unesco declared Dalt Vila
Heritage
of Humanity. Over five months later, a grand medieval fiesta was held
in Dalt Vila with street theatre, fakirs, markets, dancing, music....
The celebration has continued every year since then and is the doorway
to the summer season of the island.
Thousands of people attend this fair, that this year will start on Friday
evening. If you wish to be transported back to the Middle Ages, until
Sunday, Dalt Vila is the best place to be. This year you can enjoy
Arab and Jewish dancing, the presentation of a Sephardic wedding, an exhibition
of Templarian Knights... But to get an idea of the entertainment choice,
you should download the
complete
programme in Word format.
