The landscape: Trees, plants and ploughed fields. A work born of intimate
experiences, but where nature does not wish to be reproduced but is used
to obtain equivalences, that can be of colours, spaces or tactile. That
is the work by the artist, Joan Hernández Pijuan, who this Friday,
at 8 p.m. will present his work in the gallery Van der Voort, in the Plaça
de Vila.
Well known in this centre (where he presented his first exhibition on
Eivissa in 1972), Hernández Pijuan, an author of a very lyrical
work, obtained the National Prize for Plastic Arts in 1981 and is a Merit
Professor Art at the Higher School of Fine Arts Sant Jordi in Barcelona.
He is a member of the Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando.
On the page of the
Ciudad
de la Pintura a section can be found dedicated to this important artist,
with a total of 90 paintings from different years and stages of his work,
as well as a short biography.
Coinciding with the exhibition on Eivissa, Pijuan is also presenting
a selection of his work
on
Mallorca, at the Centre Cultural Contemporani Pelaires de Palma.
