Once the programme of the
Summer
University of Eivissa and Formentera has finished, the university headquarters
in the calle de Bes in Eivissa will hold from September 29 to October 2
four conferences as part of the "V Curs de Cultura Popular de les Illes
Pitiüses".
The first will be a conference on curiosities connected with the place
names on the Pitiüses by Enric Ribes, philologist, author of sever
works on the toponymy of the Pitiüses Islands; the second will be
a presentation of the Ibizan statutory law by Lina Sansano, anthropologist
and director of the
Museo
Etnográfico de Eivissa; the third one is called "Les altres
rondalles eivissenques" (the other Ibizan fables) by Marià Torres,
and the course will end with a conference by Maria Lena Mateu Prats on
popular Ibizan jewellery.
All the conferences of the course, organised by
Sa
Nostra with collaboration from the
UIB
and coordinated by Joan-Albert Ribas, will start at 8 p.m. and with free
entrance.
