Music, sports and tradition at the fiestas of Es Cubells
Santa Teresa Patron Saint Festivities.
These days patron saint celebrations are going on in Es Cublles. The programme, available in PDF, includes a vast choice of activities until November 1st.
The music will be one of the most outstanding elements of the festivities with performances for all tastes. Rock concerts by the Ibizan Can Raia Rock Band and by the Valencia band Pinka. Peasant singing by singers from Valencia, Catalunya and the Balearic Islands. Folk music and dancing by the Grup Folklòric des Cubells. And singer/songwriters' music by the Falsterbo Marí music band, formed by Montse Domènech, Eduard Estivill and the Ibizan Isidor Marí.
Sports activities have also and important presence in the programme, mostly archery. In fact, the archery club of this village is very important in the whole country.
As for the traditional activities, worth stressing are the preparation of a "sitja" of charcoal and the contest of "ucs" (long cries).
