Compost and recycling: the waste in good hands

Compost and recycling: the waste in good hands
The treatment of urban waste together with the measures to resolve the lack of water have become the principal political objectives of the Balearic Government. The increase in residents, and the summer massification of tourists leads inevitably to the in crease in generation of waste, that oscillates round 500,000 tons per year.

Salut i Força publishes this month, in the section dedicated to environmental health, a full article by the biologist, Antoni Trias, about the administration of waste, reviewing the new Sectorial Directive Plan for Waste, and topics such as selective collection and environmental control, amongst others. It is also worth pointing out in the latest number of Salut i Força, an interesting interview with the Balearic Councillor for Health, Aina Salom.
