The exhibition "Els
rastres de l'alfabet. Escriptura i art", that can be visited until October
6 at the Espai Cultural Can Ventosa in Eivissa, offers an unusual vision
of one of the most ancient communication tools: writing.
Organised by the
Fundació
"la Caixa", with collaboration from the Eivissa Town Council, the exhibition
explains visually the evolution of writing and in particular the graphic
evolution of letters, from the ideography writing until our alphabet.
The exhibition is in three parts:
1. Historic. It shows the most important stages of the evolution
of writing upto the alphabet.
2. Graphic It synthesises, as from graphics, the changes in the
written signs: from the pictograms upto the letters of the Latin alphabet.
3. Artistic. It presents the letter and writing in contemporary
art. Works by Maria Carbonero, Ramon Canet, J Manuel Menéndez
Rojas, Pep Canyelles and Josep Maria Sirvent.
