Eivissa will organise a demo for adequate airline connections
The lack of adequate air communications between the islands and with the mainland has been a common complaint for years on the Pitiüses. But the last cut in frequencies a few months ago caused the creation of the Mesa pel Transport Aeri de les Pitiüses, an organisation that groups all the political parties, businesses, unions, neighbours associations and social groups of Eivissa and Formentera.
After months of negatives from the central Government in connection to the declaration as general interest of the flights between islands and with the mainland, so that a minimum of frequencies could be established for transport, a demo has been called "For adequate airline connections" that will take place next March 15, at 7 p.m. in the Paseo de Vara de Rey.
The Mesa del Transport Aeri also demands an increase in the subsidy for residents from 33% to 50% and an improvement in sea communications between Eivissa and Formentera, with a boat from Formentera to Eivissa at 6.40 a.m. and another from Eivissa to Formentera at 10 p.m.
