The Cultural Hall of
Sa Nostra
in Eivissa town is holding from March 11 until April 11 the exhibition
"Terres de ningú" by Pere Noguera.
The exhibition, with Irene Garzón as the commissioner, is based
on the idea of an island as a geological formation, with emerging physical
territory, rooted on the interior energy of the planet. Round this
concept, the Catalan sculptor, Pere Noguera, has created several maps that
situate the island within a global territory, and developed on purpose
for this exhibition, "Illes de pols", a video and an installation carried
out in clay from Sa Caleta. Noguera is also presenting the work, carried
out exclusively for Sa Nostra, "Forat al cul", an installation and
action that is projected on the video, in which the artist perforates the
base of a plate with small taps from a hammer.
Pere Noguera (La Bisbal d'Empordà, 1941) started his career in
the framework of poor, ephimorous and conceptual poetry close to Arte Povera
of the seventies. Influenced by his place of birth, La Bisbal, a
centre for pottery and industrial ceramics, he often works with crude clay,
baked, in dust or in mud, having popularised "la enfangada" as an installation.
He also works with other materials such as iron or glass and has been interested
in electrography, by the art of the photocopy productions of the seventies
and theatrical stagework. A great part of his work is to be found in the
Colección Rafael Tous de Arte Contemporáneo and at the MACBA
in Barcelona.
