The artist from Calella is exhibiting for the third time on Eivissa
Until the end of April, the walls of the Van der Voort Gallery on Eivissa
will be full of works by the artist from Calella, Jordi Alcaraz.
Born in 1963, he studied art and etching at the
Escola
d'Arts i Oficis Massana in Barcelona. This will be his third exhibition
in this Ibizan gallery. The first time that he showed his work on Eivissa
was in 1994 and the last time in 1999.
After nearly three years, he returns to the island to show his work
that passes all limits of art and sculpture. For his work he uses
very varied materials and ways of working, water, moving painting, glass,
iron, mirrors and sound... in a game that wishes to convert his exhibitions
in a mixture of illusion and tricks. For those who hope that a photo can
capture the essence of his work, he says that "the text can be approached
more to his work than photographs can". His pieces intend to be a
superposition of instants... and the camera can only capture one of these.
