Due to the success of the guided tours of the historic part of the
city since their start in January, the Councillor for Tourism of the Eivissa
Town Council has decided to prolong this free activity in April and May.
The visits start on Saturdays and Sundays at 11 a.m. in the tourist
information office in Vara de Rey and have professional tour guide who
accompanies the participants along the programmed routed through the streets
of the historic part of Dalt Vila and districts of the Marina and sa Penya.
According to the Councillor for Tourism of the Eivissa Town Council,
Maurici Cuesta, the organisation of these visits has the objective to promote
a full knowledge of one of the cities that has been declared World Heritage by Unesco.
Recently, Eivissa town has entered the group
Ciudades
Patrimonio de la Humanidad de España, an association comprised
of the Town Councils of Alcalá de Henares, Ávila, Cáceres,
Córdoba, Cuenca, Salamanca, Santiago de Compostela, Segovia and
Toledo, Spanish cities that have deserved, the same as Eivissa, the recognition
by Unesco, declaring the Cities Heritage of Humanity, because of the singular
historic, architectural and cultural values.
