The new painting by Miquel Mont reaches Eivissa
Miquel Mont, an artist from Barcelona born in 1963 and who has lived for 14 years in Paris, is presenting this Friday in the Galería Van der Voort his first individual exhibition on Eivissa. The exhibition will remain open until the end of next month.
Mont is an innovative painter who opens new possibilities freeing painting from canvas and searching for new supports. He changes the brushwork for a dense layer of painting and, on reducing the painting to an object, separating it from its traditional icon function. His work is carried out in a series and in the exhibition in Eivissa one can see different works that show different stages. In the Murals, for example, he paints on a wall, while in the Walled Paintings, he hides the painted surface between thick walls or boards.

We can find a web of the Galería Le Sous Sol, from the French capital, with special section dedicated to him, where we can see his work and biography. Also in the page Drac Ile de France a visit can be paid to examples of his work. This year he has exhibited, amongst other places, in the Galería dels Àngels in Barcelona.
