The educational centres that impart all or part of the teaching in
Catalan, together with other entities that have excelled on Eivissa for
promoting the use of the Catalan language and the ideas of educational
renovation (Federació d'Associacions de Pares i Mares d'Alumnes
d' Eivissa,
Institut d'Estudis Eivissencs,
Associació Pitiüsa per a la Renovació Pedagògica)
decided in 1997 to hold the first "Trobada d'Escoles" together, with the
slogan "Junts per la Llengua" to promote its use and to present the
work they were carrying out in schools.
This year they have organised the VI Gathering following the same slogan
as the five previous years, but with a different structure. This edition
will be carried out in two stages. A first that will consist in the organisation,
by the centres, of musical and/or theatrical performances, in Catalan,
in each municipality during the week from May 13 to 17. The closing ceremony
will be communal on May 18 in the Park in Portal Nou on Eivissa, that will
included musical performances, the creation of a grand mural and collective
singing. The activities in the centres will be held in the morning or afternoon,
according to the municipality. The closing ceremony will start at
6 p.m. with folk dancing by the group Es Cubells, followed by the performance
by Club Super 3 and Xip Xap, ending with
Pota
Lait, as from 8 p.m.
