On June 28 the plenary meeting Council of Eivissa and Formentera approved
the proposal by the Historic-artistic Heritage Committee of Eivissa and
Formentera (CIPHA) to declare Catalogued Properties the windmills of es
Porxet, d'en Cantó, de na Secorrada and d'en Roig, situated on the
Puig des Molins in Eivissa city.
More over, the CIPHA is currently preparing the proposal to declare
Property of Cultural Interest (BIC), with the category of Monument, the
windmills of d'en Pep Joan, d'en Toni Joan and d'en Fèlix,
also situated on the Puig des Molins in Eivissa. Once the proposal is approved
by the plenary meeting of the insular institution, the seven windmill that
still exist on the Puig des Molins will be protected.
All the mentioned windmills belong to private owners, expect es Porxet,
which was bought by the Insular Council from Eivissa and Formentera in
the 90s and later was renovated.
