To get to know the island well, a car is not enough. Very often, you
have to leave it beside the road and start to walk. A good way of getting
to know Eivissa is to follow the activities of the Grup de Coneixement
del Medi of the
Institut d'Estudis
Eivissencs, that has prepared a programme of excursions until June
2003 full of interesting trips.
This Saturday they will be visiting the property des Murtar, in Sant
Joan, with good views from the Puig de sa Fita. On January 18 there will
be a walk along the coast from Cala d'Hort as far as Cala Vedella.
On February 15, a walk round Cap d'es Llibrell, in Cala Llonga, a place
of great archaeological interest with splendid views over the coast and
es Puig d'en Vic.
The programme of excursions follows on March 15 with a visit to Ses
Selanies. On April 12 the group will go to es Portitxol de Rubiķ
(es Amunts), on May 8 to the area of Es Torrentās (between Sant
Josep and es Cubells) and finally on June 9, the excursions will end with
a trip to Cala Salada and ses Fontanelles, in Sant Antoni.
All the excursions start at the same time: at 10 a.m. meeting outside
the Institut d'Estudis Eivissencs. The route starts by private car until
the point where the cars will be left and the walk starts. The excursions
last well into the afternoon.
