Tomorrow, at 8 p.m. will be the opening of the new exhibition of the
Espai Mira Mira, in Sant Rafel, with works by the English artist resident
in Eivissa, Sara Nechamkin. A student of the
Chelsea
Art School (where she coincided with professors such as
Henry
Graham y
Graham
Sutherland), she later gave classes in that centre and afterwards travelled
around the Mediterranean countries. Syria, Morroco and Italy were some
of her stops, reaching Eivissa in the sixties, which she made her present
residence.
Nechamkin is a lover of the shapes and colours of Eivissa, that she
knows how to capture with captive spirit. The artist was a pioneer
in the Spring Deserts organised by the Museu d'Art Contemporani d'Eivissa
(MAC) and has presented her work on different occasions, both in England
and in Eivissa. The exhibition in Sant Rafel will be open until January
11.
