The head office of the GEN, an area for art

The Grup d'Estudis de sa Naturalesa (GEN) opened in September a new possibility, in its head office in Can Llaudis, en Dalt Vila, an area of art, photography and the memories of 20 years ecological work on the Pitiüses. The experience has received the name of "Info-Art GEN". Panels with press cuttings and photographs remind us of the principal campaigns of this group, such as the struggle for the protection of ses Salines and against the golf of Cala d'Hort. But you can also find pieces of artisanware by authors such as Armando Argüeso, Julio Bauzá, Carlos Icardi, Kinoto, Antonio Peinado, Maria Luisa, Toniet Coves and Vicent Palermet.

Finally, we will find the attraction of over 20 photographs of landscapes, plants and animals carried out by the photographer Antonio Manzanares, collaborator for television programmes and a well known professional. The photos have been ceded by the Council of Environment of the Pitiüses. Because of the actual group of work presented and the beauty of the calle Major, and the views from the Cathedral square, it is worth the trouble to climb up to Dalt Vila to see the material of Info-Art GEN. And do not be surprised if you find the door shut at a time when the office should be open. Damp and cold obliges the people who are working in to shut the door.
