Santa Eulària des Riu
has been celebrating since April 26 the "Festes de Maig 2003" with sports
activities, concerts, exhibitions, theatre... This year the fiestas are
dedicated to the disabled, coinciding with the celebration of the
European
Year of People with Disabilities.
As usual, the first days there are sports activities. Moreover on Thursday,
May 1, there will be an open air dance with music by
La
Salseta del Poble Sec and on Friday night a concert by Remember The
Beatles.
On Saturday, amongst other activities, there will be an excursion to
the Creu d'en Ribes and the opening of several exhibitions. The events
of this day will end with a concert by
Los
Ilegales.
On Sunday, May 4, at 11 a.m., the official mass will be held in Puig
de Missa, followed by folk dancing. In the morning there will also
be a parade of antique carts, cars and motorbikes, an equestrian exhibition
and folk dances by the group
S'Isprone
de Cerdeña and the Ibizan group Es Broll in the Town Hall square.
The day will end with a dance as from 9.30 p.m. and a firework display
that will start at 12.30 a.m.
The programme of the "Festes de Maig" this year will last until the
