Medieval weekend on Eivissa

Medieval weekend on Eivissa
The fortifications of the city of Eivissa were declared in 1999 World heritage site by Unesco. This declaration also included the cemetery of Puig des Molins, the Phoenician settlement of sa Caleta and the prairies of Posidonia of the Ses Salines Natural Park. To celebrate this international recognition, the Eivissa Town Council organises in the second weekend of May a wide programme dedicated to culture and entertainment: a grand medieval fiesta was held in Dalt Vila with street theatre, fakirs, markets, dancing, music....

Next Friday, May 9, a new edition of the fiesta begins, the fourth, and over the weekend thousands of people will visit Dalt Vila to enjoy the vast choice of activities organised by the Town Council.

Worth stressing are the Renaissance concert by Jordi Savall on Friday at 9 p.m., and the concert by Judith Cohen, prestigious Canadian ethnic musicologist who will offer a recital of Sephardi and Jewish music on Sunday night.

The full programme of activities is available in PDF format.
