Vila is the scene, since last December 5, for different festive activities
within the programme Christmas 2003/2004 organised by the
Town
Hall. As well as the illumination and traditional Christmas markets,
a whole series of proposals will animate the city until January 6.
As for sport, outstanding are
Cursa
Ciclista Popular de L'Indiot, celebrated on December 14, and the Pujada
Atlčtica a la Catedral, that takes place on December 31 at 4.30
p.m., leaving from Paseo Joan Carles I (Casa del Mar).
As for traditional events, special attention is deserved to the Xacota
Pagesa organised by the
Colla
de Sa Bodega that is held on December 27 in the Paseo Vara de Rey,
at 6 p.m. with popular music and tasting of Christmas sauce, sobrasada,
butifarra and bunyols for everyone.
The free New Year's Eve fiesta this year is changing its venue and will
be held in a marquee installed in the car park between the streets Vicente
Serra, Canāries and Sant Cristōfol. There will be performances
by Paco Atrium, Orquestra Tanit, Ricardito and Sabor Tropical.
The most important event for the Ibizan children, the arrival of the
Three Kings, will take place in the Port of Eivissa on January 5 at 6.30
p.m.
