Patron saint festivities in Sant Joan de Labritja
The nine fires of Sant Joan arrive.
The "Sant Joan" festivity is celebrated in almost all the parishes of Eivissa. Fire is the main element of the night before (June 23), the magic night full of symbolism, and the day of the Saint (June 24) there are masses and processions.
One of the most interesting fiestas is the one in Sant Joan de Labritja. The "Macarrones de Sant Joan", but specially the nine fires that are lit at midnight, are the most outstanding elements.
